4 Weddings and a Funeral

Really, 2 weddings and a funeral, but how does a Hugh Grant reference not draw you in? Okay, done. The funeral was months ago, but I hit up two weddings in the past six days. Basically, my life has been wedding, Christmas, wedding, to be continued.

This one, on December 26, was Bee's. She teaches with us at school, so at least this time we had the advantage of knowing the bride. Really steppin' up our game with that card. It was just around the corner from our apartment (10 minute drive), which made for a much easier afternoon than the two and a half hour van ride the weekend prior.

Here are some photos of the afternoon. We participated in a lunch after the ceremony for her wedding.

The tents set up outside for guests. Originally, we were supposed to sit here. I am sooo glad they moved us in (not that there was A/C inside or anything); at least we could see the bride that way.

Bee laughing in front of a western photo of her and her new husband. The couple never wore these clothes on their wedding day, but used them only to pose for pictures. It's interesting to see the clash of east meets west in a wedding. From my minimal experience, it seems the more money involved, the more westernized the dinner. Last weekend the bride wore what we would consider to be a traditional dress. Here she is in all Thai.

Bee and I.

Some close ups of her dress. I thought it was really beautiful, and nice to see her keeping with their traditions.

All of us with Bee. The other teacher you don't know is Film (pronounced Feem, who knows why they do that). She is Bee's student teacher and still in school.
